There are 11 hectares of vines in total, including 9.5 hectares of Pinot Noir and 1.5 hectares of Chardonnay, all of which are managed with great care and rigour. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are noble grape varieties and here they produce remarkably aromatic, full-bodied and fruity wines with a unique character. This gives Bara’s chief winemaker a wide variety of possibilities – by carefully combining wines, he makes magnificent blends that display the rich and highly expressive character for which Pinot Noir from Bouzy is famed.
At Bara, we have exacting standards and are keen to employ sustainable winegrowing methods. We strive daily to improve our environmental performance by avoiding any use of chemical weedkillers or insecticide. In keeping with ancestral traditions, cover planting is used between the rows of vines. We believe strongly in closely monitoring the vineyard environment to ensure that the biodiversity and quality of its soils are preserved. Proof of our commitment, the House received in 2020 the HVE "Haute valeur environnementale" and VDC "Viticulture Durable en Champagne" certifications.
